In addition to CJ Riefenhauser’s big league debut this past weekend, the CP Family has managed to leave their mark on the professional baseball seen consistently over the couple of days. Here’s a few new updates, highlighted by a Jays/Orioles contest that featured contributions from three different CP guys:
Steve Delabar (Jays) earned the win in a 9-3 Toronto victory. Steve tossed a scoreless 8th inning and pushed his record to 2-0 on the season. Steve’s Bio
TJ McFarland (Orioles) made his return to the big leagues to join fellow CP athlete, Ryan Flaherty (0-for-2, 2BB). TJ also threw a scoreless/hitless inning of relief. Box Score
Steve Cishek (Marlins) converted his 33rd consecutive save for the Marlins (4th of 2014). He also struck out the final batter of the game, allowing the Marlins and Braves to combine for 28 strikeouts, an MLB single-game record. Video
Jed Bradley (Brewers Prospect) earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the Florida State League. Jed threw 6 scoreless innings in his start on Wednesday, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 5 on only 76 pitches. Bradley has the 4th highest K’s/9IP in the league, averaging 8.8/9. Article
Luke Jackson (Rangers Prospect) also earned Pitcher of the Week honors, having been dominant in his Texas League start on Tuesday. Luke has a 1.96 ERA and has not allowed a run in 2 of his 3 starts this season. Article
